I am the author of the “The Reckoning,” a 2009 Indie Book Award winner in Multicultural Fiction (as well as a finalist in two other categories) AND a finalist in two categories for the 2008 Whitney Award. It is now available for order (either as a paperback or in Kindle form) from Amazon.com. I am currently writing my second novel, “Laps,” which promises to be far less violent and set much closer to home.
As a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who has almost always lived away from the center of the church (including growing up overseas and serving a mission in Italy), I am finding my own way toward so-called “Mormon Literature”… that is, from the outside in. While “The Reckoning” has no LDS characters, its story is very much shaped by my own world view. Any future writings cannot help but reflect those same beliefs.
My other area of interest is autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, since my son was diagnosed with the latter when he was in first grade. It has been an adjustment for the whole family, but I wouldn’t have him any other way.
In addition to writing, I love to read, research, and reflect, and my postings here will no doubt display that passion.
Tanya…what city do you live in? Are you having any booksignings in the Tri-City area in the near future?
